The IPEIA education committee has a number of committee members to help with various responsibilities and initiatives. These members are volunteers with a wide variety and depth of experience.
The key responsibility of the education committee is to propose and lead initiatives to help advance the awareness, knowledge, safety, and integrity of pressure equipment. The education committee strives to maintain and grow relationships with post-secondary organizations across Canada.
The annual codes courses are one of the key outputs of the education committee. These codes courses were historically held at the University of Alberta and SAIT each year. Since the global pandemic, the codes courses have been offered virtually. Codes courses are expected to be offered on an ongoing basis in both virtual and in-person formats in the future. Development of an interactive version of the “Career Opportunities & Path” pamphlet is also an upcoming initiative.
The IPEIA student membership is available at a highly discounted rate of $25 for the 2022 conference year – and in addition to including the 2022 codes course, IPEIA student members will also have full access to all the IPEIA membership benefits including previous conference material, free attendance at upcoming webinars, industry panel sessions, and more. As an IPEIA student member, you can start networking with industry professionals and learning about the pressure equipment integrity industry to get ahead in your career, before it has even started!
The education committee is very excited about the recent addition of the student poster competition (click here for more information) and are considering other means of promoting student attendance and participation as an IPEIA student member.
