What is happening?
With the advent of significant growth, it was decided in February 2024 that IPEIA‘s leadership would initiate a process to develop a Strategic Plan that would set the course of the Association for the next 3 years. The objective was to help determine the optimal structure and direction of IPEIA, create alignment with its stakeholders, and ensure the sustainability of the association. The development of the Strategic Plan is now complete.
One of the strategic objectives was to build a new Operating and Governance Model for the association. Through that work, a new Board structure has been defined. IPEIA is now looking to fill the position of a new Board Chair and the Board Members who will sponsor and lead the execution of this important Strategic Plan and the transition to the new operating model for the Association.
What do we need from you?
We are seeking your assistance in identifying candidates for the volunteer position of new Board Chair and Board Members, roles that are essential to the governance of IPEIA as a non-profit association in Alberta. The Chair will work closely with other Board members to provide effective leadership for a term of up to 3 years. If you know individuals who would excel in guiding our association through this transition, please submit their nominations with their knowledge and consent, or consider applying for the role yourself. Submissions will be reviewed by iliad Solutions Inc., an independent third-party management consulting firm, and a shortlist of candidates will be recommended to IPEIA’s Steering Committee. Resumes should be sent to Steve Fulkerson at steve@iliadsolutions.com.
What is the deadline to apply?
The submission of resumes for the roles of Chair of the Board of Directors and Board Members are requested by October 31st; sooner would be greatly appreciated, in particular if you are submitting a nomination.

What will happen next?
We are on track to roll out the 3-year Strategic Plan and new operating model to the IPEIA membership in fall/winter 2024/25. A 1-page summary of the Strategic Plan initiative has been posted for your information, and additional information will be posted on our website (https://www.ipeia.com/) as it becomes available.
Thank you for taking the time to engage in IPEIA’s search for a new Board Chair and Members. Your involvement is vital as we work to find a leader who will guide us through this important transition. We appreciate your commitment and support in shaping the future of our association.
