IPEIA Operational Model

Dear IPEIA Members, Volunteers, and Partners,

As we continue to build on the momentum of IPEIA’s evolution, I am thrilled to share the next important step in aligning our operations with the vision set out in our 3-year Strategic Plan.

At the heart of IPEIA’s strength is our vibrant volunteer community. It’s your expertise, energy, and commitment that drive the work we do – from shaping the annual conference to advancing pressure equipment integrity across industries. While IPEIA previously had several volunteer committees, we’ve streamlined into two core Working Committees that focus our efforts and amplify our impact. I’m pleased to share that Faustina Gaffney will serve as Program Chair and Cody Scheu as Stakeholder Engagement Chair for the 2025/26 term. Both bring deep experience and passion for our mission, and they will lead and support our incredible volunteers as we co-create another impactful year.

We encourage all members of our community to consider volunteering, since your involvement is what makes IPEIA exceptional. If you’re interested in contributing your time and expertise, please express your interest here: IPEIA Committee Members – IPEIA. More information about the Working Committees and opportunities to get involved will be shared soon.

To ensure our operations are structured to support these vital volunteer-led initiatives, and to deliver effectively on the direction set by the Board of Directors, I’m also pleased to share our new organizational model.

On March 1, we transitioned from a volunteer-led Steering Committee to a Board of Directors and Executive Director structure. This shift brings clarity and focus to how we operate. Going forward:

  • The Board of Directors is responsible for governance and strategic direction.
  • The Executive Director (that’s me) reports to the Board and is responsible for executing the strategy and overseeing IPEIA’s operations.
  • Staff support the day-to-day activities that enable our volunteers and members to thrive.

This structure allows our volunteers to focus on what they do best – offering their expertise to shape programming, facilitate learning, and support safety and innovation in our field.

I’m excited to announce that Haley Debnam has been promoted to Operations Manager, a new role that reflects her strong leadership and deep knowledge of IPEIA’s operations. Haley will report directly to me and take on many of the responsibilities previously handled by the IPEIA Manager. Under her leadership, our day-to-day functions will be more coordinated and responsive than ever.

Reporting to Haley will be:

  • Ursula Winster-Goodfellow, Finance Administrator
  • Our next Operations Coordinator (hiring now – more on that below)
  • And indirectly, through the Operations Coordinator, Mackenzie Van Doorn, Administrative Assistant

With this new structure, we are reinforcing our capacity to strengthen our impact, better serve our members, and continue fostering excellence in the pressure equipment industry.

We’re currently recruiting for a new Operations Coordinator. If you or someone you know is passionate about supporting a dynamic, purpose-driven organization, please view the job posting here:

I’m excited about what this new chapter means for IPEIA. With a strong governance model, a capable staff team, and the continued passion of our volunteers, we are well positioned to fulfill our mission: enhancing pressure equipment safety, reliability, and innovation through awareness, learning, and collaboration.

Thank you for being a vital part of IPEIA’s journey. We couldn’t do it without you.

Warm regards,
Christi Marcine
