Alex Tatarov, Ph.D., P.Eng. Acuren Group Inc.
show moreAlex Tatarov obtained his PhD in Physics and Math from the Kyiv State University. Until 1995 he was working as a professor of Physics in Kyiv.
In 1995 Dr. Tatarov moved to Canada, obtained a designation of P. Eng. in Physics and concentrated on Failure Analysis and Fitness-For Service.
He has performed over 2000 failure analyses on pipelines, pressure vessels and storage tanks. He has also performed hundreds of Level II and III API 579 fitness-for-service assessments on different assets.

Srnic, Djordje, ABSA – The Pressure Equipment Safety Authority
show moreDjordje Srnic obtained his Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering (1984) and Master of Science Degree (1990) from the University of Belgrade, Serbia; Course of Study: steam boilers. Since 1984, he has worked on many different projects, resulting in strong international engineering experience. His early career included being a Boiler Design Engineer, Design Team Leader, and Project Engineer in boiler design and leading equipment delivery projects for power plants. He moved to Canada in 1996 and began working for ABSA. Djordje served as Design Surveyor from 1996 until he was promoted to Design Survey Manager in 2007, and then in 2014 was appointed concurrent roles of Manager, Codes and Standards, and Assistant Chief Inspector.
In 2020, he became the Administrator and Chief Inspector. He exercises the powers and authorities and perform the duties of Administrator ascribed to those roles under the Safety Codes Act as they relate to the pressure equipment safety discipline. He also represents Alberta’s interests as a member of the Canadian Association of Chief Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors, as a member of the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors.

Chris Bishop, Apave IRISNDT
show moreChris Bishop has over 26 years of experience in the inspection business and maintains CGSB certifications in both radiographic testing and penetrant testing. He is a CR and DDA Subject Matter Expert.
He has been in the inspection industry for over 28 years, and all that time has mainly been industrial radiography with APAVE / IRISNDT. He started out working in fabrication shops, and achieved several CGSB tickets, then moved into different plant sites primarily focused on TML, CML surveys. At that time, he used conventional film, and as new equipment became available, he switched to Computed Radiography, then onto Digital Detector Array panels. Now as Digital Radiography is becoming more popular, Chris’ main focus is on training, developing new techniques, and keeping up to date on new equipment.

Sascha Schieke, Director – Corrosion Monitoring Solutions, Molex
show moreSascha started his career at the German Center for Space & Aeronautics in Germany where he worked on an acoustic monitoring instrument aboard the European space probe Rosetta. He joined General Electric in 2005 where he held different positions in engineering and product management related to non-destructive examination, condition monitoring & structural health monitoring using sensors, software, and analytics. He joined Molex at the end of 2015 where he now holds the position of the Director – Corrosion Monitoring Solutions. Sascha has a Masters in Geophysics and a PhD in Engineering and currently owns 10+ patents and patent applications as lead and coinventor. He is the lead author of the chapter “NDE in Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical facilities” in the “Handbook of Non-destructive Evaluation 4.0”.

show moreBill has had a distinguished career in civil engineering, spanning from 1960 to 2004, where he contributed significantly to municipal, construction, design, and operations projects. He holds an AAS in Highway and Bridge Construction Technology, a BSCE and MSCE in Civil Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Engineering Management.
In addition to his professional achievements, Bill served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University at Buffalo’s School of Management from Fall 1999 to Fall 2023, teaching courses in Project Management, Strategic Quality Management, and Fundamentals of Strategic Management.
Now retired, Bill’s legacy in both the engineering field and academia continues to inspire future generations.

Marc Lemmons, EPRI
show moreMr. Marc Lemmons has been the Boiler/Combustion Specialist since 2007. Mr. Lemmons earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron. Mr. Lemmons has prior boiler OEM experience as a Field Service engineer and research and development engineer for utility and industrial steam generators. Mr. Lemmons spent 12-years at Sargent & Lundy has a Senior Boiler Specialist, specializing in fuel conversions and conditions assessments on large utility boilers. His duties at Sargent & Lundy also included project management for larger EPC projects. He recently spent 2.5 years working at John Zink Hamworthy Combustion, acting as a Customer Advisor Supervisor, focusing on fuel conversion projects, start-up and tuning and troubleshooting for refineries, industrial and utility applications in the Midwest and Southeast.
Mr. Lemmons is currently working at EPRI as a Senior Technical Leader assisting in the Boiler, HRSG and HEP programs focusing on boiler tube failure reduction and life assessment activities at coal and gas fired power plants. Additional efforts include future developments on hydrogen and ammonia firing. He is member of the ASME Section I and NFPA 85.

Moved to Alberta in 1990 and continued work as a NDE technician. Attained my ISI in 2002 and started representing Owners’ IMS programs.
